Hi, I’m Marge! I live in Chicago with my husband Sean and my dog Penny. I am a certified chef and editor of a magazine for bakery owners. When I’m not working, I’m cooking, eating and writing (even more) about food.
Meal-making is a never-ending process for me. While I’m having breakfast, my mind is already starting work on lunch and dinner. It is this insatiable appetite for the next meal that keeps me coming back to the kitchen to tinker with new and existing recipes based on what I’m reading or where I’ve been eating in this great food city.
Here I’ll share some of my go-to resources–cooking websites, cookbooks, articles, favorite restaurant dishes and lessons learned from a year of culinary school. I hope that by reading this, you’ll find some inspiration in the kitchen and let food get into your head, too.

Dear M – I’m loving your beautiful cooking blog AND learning. I’ve purchased ALL the books you raved about while we dined at Frasca: Italian Home Cooking, Molto Gusto, Simply Ming One-Pot Meals. I’m reading them like novels. I was introduced to a new foodie site and wanted to share it with you – http://www.gilttaste.com/. Your wedding nuptials are ever so close and I wish you and Sean a most exquisite day filled with the joy of love for one another and those who come to celebrate with you.
Paula, thank you so so much for your lovely note! I am now a Mrs., which is very hard to believe but really wonderful! I want to also thank you for all the wonderful resources you gave me. Food is a never-ending source of excitement, which I think is a feeling you share!
Take care, and keep in touch!
Hi there Lovely Lady!
This is a beautiful blog written by a beautiful woman. Not only is your passion for food evident – your writing is seamless. You have a gift with words and an uncanny ability to thread humor into each piece. Not too many food connoisseur have such an ability. I think big things are ahead of you, my dear.
And hopefully, big things are ahead of me too — I’m not a natural chef. (And yes, most times when I try, I end up grabbing for the to go menu too!) But now that I can read Marge’s Next Meal from the comfort of my inbox.. I have a feeling some spectacular dinners are in my future.
Please stay in touch!!! I just love the fact our meeting was so serendipitous.
